Alice Grove Wiki

This guide introduces each of the custom templates created for and used by the Alice Grove Wiki. Each template is explained and demonstrated so new editors can learn how to use them.

Comic Link

Comic 1 This is used to to generate an external link to a specific strip of the Alice Grove Comic. It is used with the code {{ComicLink|x}} , where x is the comic number.

e.g. {{ComicLink|1}} gives Comic 1

Some strips have multiple pages and should use the syntax as follows:

e.g. {{ComicLink|109-1}} gives Comic 109-1

HeadingA - Primary Page Heading

Heading Text

This is used with the syntax {{HeadingA|Heading Text}} .
Primary refers to the heading being used in the main page column and not the sidebar (typically). Both the Primary and Secondary headings are H2 headings (ie. of equal weight for a page's Table of Contents).

This is derived from the HeadingA template over at the Questionable Content Wiki.

HeadingB - Secondary Page Heading

Heading Text

This is used with the syntax {{HeadingB|Heading Text}} .
Secondary refers to the heading being used in the sidebar and not the main page column (typically). Both the Primary and Secondary headings are H2 headings (ie. of equal weight for a page's Table of Contents).

This is derived from the HeadingB template over at the Questionable Content Wiki.

Speculation - Start/End

These are used to mark the start and end of sections containing Speculation (ie. information not yet confirmed by the comic/author). If including such material, then the Speculation template is required. The SpeculationEnd template is technically optional. It is a good idea to include it, but there are cases where it is not needed (e.g. where the speculative material is at the very end of a section or page).

Speculation — The following material is not confirmed.

Used with the syntax {{Speculation}} .
Marks the start of speculative content.

Speculation Ends

Used with the syntax {{SpeculationEnd}} .
Marks the end of speculative content (optional, depends on circumstances).

Character Template

This wiki has a blank character template, designed to be used to jump-start a new character page. To use it, just create a new page and add ONLY the syntax {{subst:Blank_character}} . Save and edit again, and you're ready to go! The template itself is large and so is not demonstrated here. Please view the template for more information, including more detailed instructions.
